Dashaun "Jiwe" Morris (Keshawn)
Acclaimed author of "War of the Bloods in my Veins" (A Street Soldiers March to Redemption), Dashaun "Jiwe" Morris was known on the streets as "Machete" from Newark, NJ. He is a reformed member of the Bloods, and a full-time gang consultant. He seeks to end the cycle of gang violence through Juvenile Intervention work. A sought-after lecturer, Jiwe speaks throughout the United States as a spokesperson for The Stay Strong Foundation sharing his unique experiences and the horrible truth about living a gang lifestyle with kids and parents in an effort to inspire them to make better life decisions. Jason Barkley (Keshawn)
Jason is happy and honored to be a part of the Soul of Dawn family. Born and raised in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, he has undergone extensive training which has led to his appearance in films including Pride and Glory with Edward Norton and Colin Farrell, and Julia and Julia with Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. Jason hopes you enjoy the eye opening experience of One Hour 2 Live.
Born in Paris, bred in NY, Gabrielle (as Krystal X) of French and African- American heritage, has been performing in both French and English ever she could remember, from her role as baby elephant in Mowgli, Louison in The Imaginary Invalid to her role as Krystal. She attended the Lycee Francais de NYC, the Lycee Denis Diderot in Nairobi, Kenya and received a Psychology degree from Amherst College (MA) where she took a number of theater and dance courses and was part of hip hop/reggae dance troupe, DASAC. She has studied at both the Stella Adler and T. Schreiber Studios in NYC
Jaclyn Rose (Tisha)
Brandon is proud to be a part of this production. A native of Newark, NJ he currently attends NY Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. He made his Off-Broadway debut as an ensemble member in Players for the Ghetto, and originated the role of Mike Jr. in Life Is Short, Cherish Every Moment at the Producter's Club in November 2010. he is preparing to return to Off-Broadway in the new comedy, What If which will premiere at the American Theatre of Actors in March. NJ Regional Theatre Credits include Lion (The Wiz). Seaweed (Hairspray), Carlyle (Streamers), Memphis (The Life) and the Beadle (Sweeney Todd). Brandon has studied theatre at Rutgers University, and completed an apprenticeship with Shakespeare Theatre of NJ. Continued thanks to God, family, and friends for their love and support.
